Covid Letter to Families Referencing Visits

January 26, 2022

Dear KCI Family Members,

I wanted to take the time to inform you all on the changes here at KCI due to the number of COVID cases in our county, state, and country.

At this time, we wanted to let all family members know that we are asking that all visitations happen via a virtual platform, in an open-air setting (ex. front porch of the home), or through a window.  I know that is hard to hear, but it is our agency’s utmost concern to keep your loved ones safe in these trying times.  I want to assure you all that this is a short-term change until the cases of COVID reduce in frequency and as happened last year, when we were able to relax some of our COVID procedures.

If you take your loved ones out, we are going to recommend that your loved one be quarantined for 3-5 days to see if they become symptomatic.  If at that time your loved one becomes symptomatic, we will recommend that they get a PCR COVID test.  This is in place to keep all individuals living in the home and staff safe.

If you choose to take your loved one out for 3 or more days, you can give them a rapid test before they return to their house.

I thank each and every one of you for your continued support and commitment to help us keep your loved ones as safe as possible.

Respectfully,

Dr. Thomas J. Killian Jr., PhD.
